Frequently asked questions

What brackets do I need?

Check out NIFTIE Tips page

The most common are the TOP CORNER brackets, which you can use to attach the legs to the apron/skirt supports at the top and to create shelves.

The BOTTOM CORNER brackets are best for connecting the bottom legs to the apron/stretcher supports.

If you're making a desk, use the BOTTOM LEFT and BOTTOM RIGHT brackets to create an opening for your legs in the center

If you want to have multiple legs or shelves, use the MIDDLE T brackets to connect center legs to your apron/skirt/stretcher supports.

To increase strength and to attach a tabletop at the corners, use the CORNER BRACE bracket on the inside of each leg

The small L ANGLE brackets are for supporting shelves and attaching tabletops

What screws should I use?

Each Bracket comes with a set of #6 x 3/4" square-drive screws with a self-drilling tip for softwoods. For hardwoods pre-drilling is recommended with a 7/64" or 2.5mm drill bit.

If supplying your own screws, use pan-head #6 or M3.5 screws no longer than 3/4" (20mm)

If using threaded bolts use 8-32 imperial or an M4 metric bolt

Why are there so many screws?

Because it looks cool

Is it as easy as IKEA furniture?

Nope, it's a bit harder.
But it's more rewarding, customizable, and reconfigurable as your needs change
