Below are some helpful suggestions on how to use and customize the NIFTIE brackets for your project. Check this section often for updates.

Standard Corner Joint
A standard corner joint is made using a TOP CORNER BRACKET and a CORNER BRACE BRACKET
While you can just use the TOP CORNER on it's own to connect 3 pcs of wood, the CORNER BRACE significantly reinforces the joint and also helps with assembly - especially if you need to take it apart and rebuild in the future
Strong Center Joint
If you need a super strong center joint - especially useful for larger shelving units - use a MIDDLE T BRACKET on the front, (2) CORNER BRACE BRACKETS on the insides (align flush to the bottom of the 2x2's for a inset shelf), and an L ANGLE BRACKET below the center rail

Overlay vs. Inset Surfaces
For overlay / top surfaces, align your brackets so they they sit flush (or a hair below) the top edge of your 2x2's.
For inset shelves, align the brackets so that they are flush with the bottom edge of your 2x2's. Make sure you're using 1/2" thick material & 1/2" L screws so they won't poke through.
L Angle:
Overlay vs. Inset Surfaces
For overlay / top surfaces, orient your L BRACKET so that the long side is facing down and align with the top or bottom of your 2x2
For inset shelves, orient your L BRACKET so that the short side is facing down and align with the bottom of your 2x2.
Make sure you're using 1/2" thick material & 1/2" L screws so they won't poke through.
